IN-PERSON GATHERINGS
IN-PERSON GATHERINGS
Join us Sundays @10am
Come join us in-person on Sunday mornings at 10am.
Things may look a little different, but we're excited to be together!
We want you to know that our leadership team is committed to keeping all gatherings safe. We are monitoring the climate and regulations of our region as they relate to COVID-19, and will continue to adjust our plans accordingly. We encourage you to make your decision (in-person or online) based on what works best for you and your family.
How you gather does not measure your faith or your worth- you are a vital part of our church community and FBCC is still a place to call home!
Before we gather...
There's a few things we ask you to do every week before joining us in-person:
1. REGISTER ONLINE
Online pre-registration is open for 24 hours prior to Sunday morning in-person gatherings - so you can pre-register, right here, anytime between Saturday at 9:15am and Sunday at 9:15am. Register by clicking RIGHT HERE (or on the black 'Pre-Register' button on this page), OR using your smartphone, scan our QR code (simply open your phone's camera and point it at the black and white photo on this screen) to launch the pre-registration form. Here you will complete health screening questions, and let us know that you're coming! We'll have a list of everyone who pre-registers at the check-in desk.
(Note: Under current public health directives, we are able to operate at 15% capacity of our auditorium. Pre-registration helps us monitor our numbers to ensure we are meeting all guidelines on Sunday mornings!)
2. PACK YOUR MASK
Face coverings must be worn at all times while inside the building (face sheilds are not sufficient) by everyone 3 years old and up, so please bring one with you whenever possible. Disposable masks will be available in the event you forget.
3. KNOW WHEN TO STAY HOME
If you are feeling unwell in any way, please stay home, rest and join us online! You can check out our screening questions (via the pre-registration link) or visit the Durham Public Health website if you need help deciding.
or SCAN THIS QR CODE:
New to QR codes? Using your smartphone, open the camera and aim it at the black and white image below. You will see a pop-up to 'open webpage' in your phone's browser, tap to launch the pre-registration form.
Then simply follow the steps to complete.
(Or click the green button to send us a 'help me' email below)
What to expect...
When you arrive, things will look a little different than they have in the past. Here are some things to expect:
1. DOOR CHECK
In order to make sure we have lots of time to get you safely 'checked in', please arrive by 9:30am. When you get here, we'll check to see if you've pre-registered online (see instructions above.) If you have not yet done so, you will need to answer a series of health screening questions as well as provide your contact information. Screening must be completed by each individual, including children. You'll be asked to sanitize your hands before you head inside, too.
2. SAFE DISTANCE
Greet one another with a wave or air hug! Please maintain a safe distance of 6 ft/2m from anyone outside of your family at all times. Our building has been reconfigured to accomodate for safe distance between families in the sanctuary and washrooms. All other rooms are closed for access at this time.
3. WHAT WILL THE SERVICE BE LIKE?
Once everyone is seated in the sanctuary, we'll begin our gathering. At this time our service will consist of some elements of our FBCC online gathering, as well as live worship and communion. There will be a member of our leadership team up front to host, and families will participate together (there is no children's program at this time.) Communion will be served in pre-packaged individual portions, available as you feel comfortable (or you can bring your own elements if you prefer.) We'll ask you to sanitize your hands before picking up the elements, and you'll need to return to your seat before eating or drinking. We'll have a time and space for prayer following the video for anyone who would like to be prayed for. At this time, we'll ask you to not linger to chat, but to head home following the service to keep everyone safe.
Please take some time to check out all guidelines (for attendees and building use) by clicking on the buttons below. These are taken from Durham Region Public Health regulations for 'places of worship' and adapted to our context at Forest Brook.
A few more important things for Families...
Navigating pandemic protocols with young children can be especially difficult. Here are a few helpful things we want you to know before you make your decision to join us in person.
- no children's program at this time
Children will remain with parents throughout the duration of our in-person gatherings in the Sanctuary. Our safety protocols require that children (and adults, too!) limit moving around once finding their spot in order to maintain physical distancing. The lobby, nursery, pre-school rooms, gym, won't be available to stretch little legs or change scenery while the gathering is going on.
- masks, screening and other protocols apply to all family members
Children ages 3+ are required to wear a mask at all times when inside the building. We'll need to complete health screening for each individual in your family. If you are attending as a family we especially recommend the pre-registration (scroll up on this page for more!) to help keep entry smooth for everyone. Parents will be responsible for their own children throughout, we don't have Shepherds or other child-focused volunteers at this time.
We provide printed Worship Packets at in-person gatherings. If you're more comfortable, print-ahead (or save to a device!) at home first.
