SUMMER SERIES

"This Summer, These People: A look at Scripture's most unlikely heros and leaders"

PART 1: UNLIKELY (June 14 - July 19)

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus stops for the people no one expected Him to notice—a Samaritan woman, a tax collector in a tree, a woman suffering for 12 years, and an unhoused man told to stay quiet. Each encounter tells a powerful story on its own, but together they reveal a surprising pattern: Jesus keeps stopping for the wrong people.

PART 2: WILDerness (July 26 - August 30)

A look at people who found themselves in long, difficult and disorienting spaces, only to discover that God was at work there, in powerful preparation for what would lie ahead.

We do things a little differently during the summer months at Forest Brook. Over the past couple of years we've set some new rhythms that have infused meaning and joy into our summer season as a church family; rest, sharing meals together, and intentional connection.

Rest Sundays: June 28 & Aug 2 - no gathering

On the July and August long weekends, we intentionally rest as a community. We will not gather on Sundays June 28 and August 2. We'll use this time to enjoy the summer rhythms of family, friends, and the communities we live in. We invite you to do something that brings your body, mind and soul rest.

note: We will be gathering as usual Labour Day weekend, Sep 6

Selah Sundays: July 12 & August 23, 10am

We'll gather facing one another, share ideas, learnings or maybe just our name for the first time.  We know meaningful conversation and connection was important to Jesus, especially when it came to going deeper in our faith.

On Sundays July 12 and August 23, we'll be around the table, all ages together.

Mid Summer Community Dinner: August 4, 6:30pm

We'll order the pizza, you bring the sides! All ages and stages.

Community Dinners create space for a fresh expression of faith in community, are widely inclusive to many availabilities and all ages,

and are a delicious way to 'do church.'
