At Forest Brook we believe that being part of community is God's idea. A Small Group is the best place to build significant relationships with others, in a way that can not happen on a Sunday morning.

A Small Group is a great place to learn more deeply what it means to live out our mission statement  "We exist to love God and love others."  In a Small Group you will find a safe place to explore and grow in your relationship with God, a place to care for  and pray for one another,  a place where you can hold one another accountable, a place where you will have fun and will serve together and a place to weather the inevitable storms of life.

You can check out current small groups below. Or click here.

Then get ready for the great adventure of living life together in a Small Group!

Men's Ministry

Saturday Breakfasts

Feeding the body, mind and soul is the purpose behind the men’s Saturday morning breakfasts held once a month, on the second Saturday of the month. The aim is to have a time for men to meet together in a safe and open environment, giving us a place to be accepted, encouraged and challenged;  a place where we foster care for one another, sharing one another's joys and challenges.   It will be a time for testimony, prayer, praise and thanksgiving as the Lord leads among us.  It will be a place where the Holy Spirit has freedom to lead the agenda, and bring in whom He calls to come join in.  A full hot breakfast is provided for a cost of $5.

For men who enjoy connecting and building relationships while exercising their sporting abilities, the gym is the place to be on Tuesday evenings for recreational floor hockey. We also participate in a local winter hockey league and a summer softball league.   In addition, Forest Brook recently held a golf tournament, which proved to be a big success, and will continue each fall to be an opportunity for men and women to join together in sport and God’s embrace.

Wednesday's (Fall-Spring): Floor Hockey, 9:00-10:30 PM

Thursday's (Year-Round): Soccer, 8:30-10:00 PM

Promise Keepers

Each fall we attend a one or two day conference that brings men together for a time of encouragement and to be challenged in various areas of being a man. We have found that men tend to be more open to God’s presence when they are with other men. There is something unique about the all male environment that sets men free to drop the normal posturing and humble ourselves in Jesus Christ, committing to new beginnings.

Women's Ministry

Connect 4

At "Connect 4" women of all ages from our community come to the church to enjoy good coffee, conversation and friendship, as well as to participate in a variety of activities - including scrap booking, quilting, fitness classes, etc.  A short discussion about what God is doing in the everyday lives of regular women is also a part of this Thursday morning program.  This program costs $15.00 for a 12-week session, and includes childcare.  We have three sessions each year, fall, winter and spring.

Take Time

Take time is an enthusiastic group of women of all ages who meet twice a month on Tuesday mornings to study God's word together. Three different studies are offered to promote spiritual growth and discussion.  These studies run from September to June, and breaks for the summer. The goals of this ministry are to explore the Bible together, minister to one another in prayer and to build friendships with one another.  Babysitting is provided for women with young children.  Often these groups get involved in outreach projects within the life of Forest Brook and the surrounding community.

Women's Special Events

The women of Forest Brook come together for fabulous themed breakfasts or evenings of entertainment, refreshment and inspiration.  Women are encouraged to bring their friends and neighbours for these fun-filled times apart.

Women's Getaway

The annual weekend retreat is a special time when women can escape the demands of daily life and gather together to refresh their souls.  It's a chance to connect with old and new friends, listen to a wonderful speaker, participate in workshops, enjoy the outdoors and even go shopping!  Of course there's also plenty of time for personal reflection, corporate worship and the study of God's word.   Our Getaway is being held at Muskoka Bible Centre from April 28th to 30th 2017.

Eagles Ministry (Over 50's)

Eagles is our over 50's ministry. As a community we feel so richly blessed to have many adults that are 50+ in our church.  We greatly benefit from their wisdom, spiritual maturity, life stories as well as their joy and laughter!  The Eagles ministry provides, nurture, community, fellowship and opportunities for mature adults to use their gifts as an example to future generations.

There are several regularly programmed activities for the Eagles Group:

Eagles' Nest
The Eagles' Nest drop-in is held on Wednesday mornings approximately twice each month from September through June. Participants enjoy coffee, conversation, table games, shuffleboard and table tennis. This is an excellent opportunity to interact with other mature adults at Forest Brook and to introduce new friends to the community.

Feature Presentations
Several times a year, informative presentations on topics particularly relevant to seniors are scheduled as part of the Wednesday morning drop-in.

Prayer Times
These quarterly events generally take place in conjunction with a regularly scheduled Eagles' Nest drop-in. Relationships are strengthened as we enjoy good conversation and set aside time to pray for each other, the larger FBCC church family and the community around us.

From time to time special group outings are planned to various sites or cultural events in the Toronto and Southern Ontario area.  These fun day excursions allow folks to develop friendships and reach out to others who enjoy keeping on the go.

Young Adults

Forest Brook's Young Adult or College and Careers ministry is targeted at the members of our community aged 18-23 years. Nicknamed "Refine" with the goal of being refined into a Christ like character, this community has a theme of being "together in the day-to-day." We are working on creating a community for this generation that acknowledges following Christ is not just in the mountaintop experiences, but flows through all facets of life. The intention of this ministry is not to continue to "hold the hand" of this generation, but rather to create community that can be the source of energy, excitement, encouragement and desire to serve Christ here at FBCC and in our community.

Scripture Study

After many years of weekly bible study, we're beginning to work with a new rotational format of Teach. Talk. Pray. in January of 2018.  Based on topic or issues that are relevant to our group, we'll bring in someone to teach from scripture on a topic one week and lead a discussion the following week, the third week we'll commit what we've learned and discussed in prayer, and on the fourth week we'll have a worship or social gathering.
