    Rhonda's Story
    Q:
What were you looking for when you tried Alpha?
A: When I joined Alpha I had a very basic understanding of Christianity. I was hoping gain a better understanding and to strengthen my faith. I was also hoping to meet people who were on a similar faith journey.
    Q: What did you find?
A: I realized it was okay to have a lot of questions about my faith, that no one would look down on me because I didn't know the answers to questions or have a knowledge of the Bible. People were encouraging and happy to help me learn more. I also learned that there were a lot of people who had similar thoughts and questions as I did.
Q: What difference has it made?
A: I have met people who continue to support me throughout my faith and life journey. I feel more connected with my church community. Before attending Alpha I feel like I would just sit back and watch things happen but now I try to get involved a little more.

    Peter's Story
Q: What were you looking for when you tried Alpha?
A: My kids were enrolled in a Catholic school and were learning about faith, but I was not raised with any faith and wanted to at least learn a little bit so that I could help and encourage them.
    Q: What did you find?
A: I learned a lot, but I was also challenged with the idea that God was not only real,
but also wants to have a real relationship with me.
Q: What difference has it made?
A: Alpha started me on a lifelong journey to learn and grow closer to God.  It has helped me to hold myself to higher moral and ethical standards, and to be able to share that with my family.

    Garry's Story
Q: What were you looking for when you tried Alpha?
A: I had recently moved to Canada and met some of the FBCC community - it opened back up my childhood church experience and knowledge (or lack of) and I was interested in finding out how this evangelical faith compared to the institutional faith of my childhood.
    Q: What did you find?
A: I found a lot of answers to things I never understood about faith and caused me
to question the way I was living and what I was searching for. Prior to that point I had literally run away from the UK from a life most people thought was a good one to start fresh in Canada free from the shackles of how I was living.
Q: What difference has it made?
A: Alpha sent me on a new journey and appreciation of the real purpose for life - literally took a constantly restless person and gave me somewhere to settle.

    Janice's Story
Q: What were you looking for when you tried Alpha?
A: I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I had heard of the program before and I heard it was about the meaning of life. I wanted to learn how to be a 'better' Christian. Even though I had grown up going to church, there were many things about the Bible I forgot and was hoping to learn more.
    Q: What did you find?
A: I found friends. I found a stronger, renewed faith. I found joy and peace. I learned what it truly means to be a Christian. I discovered I really enjoyed learning and talking about what I read in the Bible.
Q: What difference has it made?
A: In my life, it solidified the foundation of my relationship with God. It is something that I am always working on. My family got a happier wife and mother. I was more patient, less angry and less moody as I went through the course. I did not share with them what I was learning as much as I could have, but they still benefited because of how it changed me.

    Cathy's Story
Q: What were you looking for when you tried Alpha?
A: I have been a Christian my whole life and have family members who previously attended Alpha at their own churches and spoke quite highly of the experience. So I was always curious but also always had an excuse for why I couldn't attend my first few years at Forest Brook.
    Q: What did you find?
A: Then my life took a turn – my husband and I both lost our jobs at the same time and my mother was fighting a new battle with cancer. I had so many questions of "why" and was at a point where I was ready to deepen my relationship with Jesus and God and go further in my faith journey.
Q: What difference has it made?
A: Through the experience I both deepened my relationship with Jesus as well as my relationships with so many in the church family. I gained new friendships that have sustained me through many additional life challenges and have valued our walk together.
